If you appreciate authentic Mexican food, you’ll love Oaxaca (Wah-HAH-kuh) Beef, a hearty version of Mexican-American chili. It’s loaded with chunks of tender beef, two kinds of beans (black and kidney), plus corn to make for a unique blend of colors, textures and tastes.

A muy bueno blend of flavors

Our classic “mole” (MOH-lay) sauce—mole poblano—features a unique blend of ground nuts, ancho, pasilla, mulato and chipotle chilies, Mexican chocolate and sweet cinnamon. Mexican chocolate is made from cacao seeds ground with sugar, cinnamon, salt and such added ingredients as charred avocado leaves, onions and garlic. Bold? Si, mi amigo!

The name Oaxaca comes from the southern Mexican state of the same name. Corn and black beans are staples of the local cuisine, but its real fame is being known as the “Land of Seven Moles.”

Various stories exist about that legend, but one popular version holds that 17th-century nuns of the Order of Santa Clara developed mole sauce to impress visiting Mexican church officials. Bold Eats created this Oaxaca Beef because we love authentic mole sauce, a unique, rich flavor you just don’t see in commercially prepared foods or even in most Mexican restaurants.

Oaxaca Beef is a hearty feast flavored with chiles, chipotle and cacao. It’s spicy, savory and oh, so satisfying. Goza! (Enjoy!)
